What are the check-in and check-out times at the Monte Vista Hotel?

Check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am.

Yes. Our lodge rooms are our pet friendly rooms. There is a $50 non-refundable pet fee

  • The Monte Vista is a short walk from shops, restaurants and breweries.
  • The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is based in the renovated Old City Hall
    and presents monthly exhibits in the gallery along with programs in music, visual
    and performing arts.
  • There is live entertainment regularly scheduled at White Horse Black Mountain,
    within walking distance of the Monte Vista.
  • Catawba Falls is 12 miles from the Monte Vista and is an easy 3.5 mile hike
    round trip. At the bottom of the falls you will find a local swimming hole.
  • The Lookout Trail in Montreat is 3.6 miles from the Monte Vista. The hike is
    moderate to difficult but has gorgeous views!
  • Black Mtn. is home to Montreat College

Our family room with 1 King, 1 twin day bed and a twin trundle, 1 bathroom.
1 connecting double queen lodge room with 2 bathrooms and 2 connecting double queen
historic rooms with a jack and jill bathroom. Our Vista Suite, 1 King bed, a pull out sofa and 2
bathrooms.

Exciting Renovation News

We are excited to share the news that the historic Monte Vista Hotel will undergo significant renovations starting later this summer.

We are committed to preserving the history, charm and beloved aesthetics of the hotel while significantly upgrading the guest rooms, lobby and restaurant space. We will also be adding 10 brand new suites in the neighboring “Farmhouse” which sits right next to the main building.

We will soon have renderings to share and will continue to keep you all updated as much as possible. This renovation is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026.
